Deadlines to Submit Supporting Documentation

OUAC 101 Applicants

Admission decisions for Ontario secondary school (OUAC 101) applicants will be released between January and late May.

February 1 is the deadline for receipt of transcripts and, if required, English facility test scores. As some offers of admission may be made before February 1, applicants are encouraged to apply early and submit any required documentation well in advance of this date. Late documents will be considered as space allows.

Please note that the “early recommended dates” specified in the table below do not impact consideration of OUAC 101 applications. All Ontario Secondary School applicants are treated equally during the assessment process so long as their supporting documents are received by the normal deadlines set out below.

All Other Applicants

Admission decisions are released between mid-December and late May.  The earliest rounds of consideration will take place before the February document deadline. Applicants who submit documentation early are able to maximize their opportunities for admission consideration. Documents received after the February deadline will be considered as space allows.

Supplementary applications can only be submitted after a student has applied to the program area.

Our goal is to give you the best foundational technical and finest advanced artistic training possible through private studio teaching with many of Toronto’s top professional teachers and players. While with us, you will play in well-coached UofT chamber music ensembles (strings, winds, brass, percussion, piano, guitar, early music, contemporary music, world music) and perform in UofT’s renowned large ensembles (opera, orchestra, winds, choirs, early music).

And you can also get professional playing experience through our Music Booking Office.

International Foundation Рrogramme

Международная программа подготовки студентов – это уникальная возможность, сочетающая в себе условное зачисление в Университет Торонто и интенсивный курс английского языка. Она подходит студентам, чей уровень английского не соответствует вступительным требованиям Университета Торонто. Успешное окончание программы гарантирует зачисление на факультет гуманитарных и технических наук или на факультет прикладных наук и инженерии.

Поскольку группы маленькие, то внимание уделяется каждому студенту индивидуально, что позволяет сделать занятия более интенсивными и насыщенными. Студенты Программы подготовки живут в резиденции Нью Колледж, на территории кампуса Университета Торонто, по соседству со студентами этого учебного заведения

Программа IFP предназначена для студентов, которые:

• хотят учиться в Университете Торонто;
• заканчивают среднюю школу за пределами Канады или проучились в канадской системе средней школы менее 4 лет;
• имеют превосходную успеваемость в старших классах средней школы на Родине;
• удовлетворяют вступительным требованиям University of Toronto (за исключением требований к уровню английского языка) и вступительным требованиям IFP по английскому языку.

Подготовка по английскому языку на IFP поможет иностранным студентам раскрыть свой академический потенциал в полной мере. Занятия английским языком проводятся в группах до 20 человек. Используя материалы для чтения, лекции и задания академических курсов в качестве основного содержания курса, студенты фокусируются на трех широких категориях владения английским языком:

• интерпретация информации, представленной письменными и устными средствами;
• выражение собственных идей эффективно и убедительно;
• обсуждение значения в небольших группах и консультациях с преподавателем.

Для зачисления на программу International Foundation Program нужно предоставить копию школьного аттестата, переведённую на английский язык и заверенную нотариально, сертификат IELTS с результатом не ниже 5.0 или TOEFL с результатом не ниже 69 (iBT), 193 (CBT) или 523 (PBT). Желательно предоставить также эссе и пару рекомендательных писем на английском.

International students enrolled at the University of Toronto, are provided financial assistance in the form of scholarships, awards, and fellowships. Some of the scholarships at the University of Toronto for international students:

University of Toronto Fees

U of T finalizes tuition fees for each academic year in the spring. In addition to tuition fees, students are also required to pay Incidental, Ancillary, and System Access Fees. The incidental fee is charged for student societies, campus-based services, athletics and recreation facilities, and student health and dental plans while the ancillary fee contributes to field-trip costs, special equipment provided for coursework, and administrative costs.

Books, Computers and Supplies

You’ll need to factor into your budget the cost of books, electronic equipment and other educational supplies. The amount you’ll pay for these depends on several factors, and will probably vary year-to-year – for example, you’ll spend more if you need to purchase a computer in a given year. When it comes to course textbooks, you might want to consider alternatives like e-books, textbook rentals or used books to help reduce costs.

You might want to budget at least $1,000 per year on books, and additional amounts for a computer or other equipment, depending on your preferences and program needs.

Do you meet the admission requirements?

Look up the University’s undergraduate admission requirements based on your educational background.  In addition to meeting general university admission requirements, you may need to present specific subject prerequisites, or submit a personal profile or statement of interest.

  If you have completed college or university studies, AP, IB, GCE, CAPE, or French Bacc. examinations you may be eligible for transfer credit at the University of Toronto. Transfer credits are assessed after admission.

• I’ve applied to study at U of T, but I want to change my college selection or program choices. How can I make changes to my application?

  All changes to your application should be made before the application deadline.

  If you have applied on a 101 or 105 application and wish to make changes to your initial application, you must do this by logging in to the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre website (www.ouac.on.ca).

  All other applicants (International/Internal/Part-Time/Non-Degree) should log onto Join U of T, click on Check Status, and follow the instructions for making changes to your application.

• How can I defer my offer of admission?

  If you are unable to begin your degree studies this fall, you may request a one-year deferral of your offer of admission. Deferrals are not guaranteed and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Deferral requests that are approved will include deferral of eligible entrance scholarship(s) awarded – check the terms of your award for conditions & eligibility – and the residence guarantee, if applicable. Ensure you have satisfied the conditions of your offer and paid the admission deposit (if required). Deferral applications will be available beginning in July. Please note that offers to non-degree studies and the International Foundations Program are not eligible for deferral.

• When will I hear from the university after I submit my application?

  You will receive an acknowledgment from U of T, with login instructions for our applicant website, about two weeks after you submit your application.

• Can I do a co-op program or an internship as part of my U of T degree?

  Find out about co-ops, internships, field school, First Year Foundations: The OnePrograms, and other enhanced academic opportunities available on all three campuses.

• How many programs can I apply to?

  Applicants may apply to one program area in each Faculty/Division, to a maximum of three choices at the University of Toronto. The Faculties and Divisions include:

  • Applied Science and Engineering
  • Arts and Science, St. George campus
  • Daniels Faculty of Landscape, Architecture and Design
  • International Foundation Program
  • Kinesiology and Physical Education
  • Medical Radiation Sciences *
  • Music
  • Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing *
  • Physician Assistant *
  • University of Toronto Mississauga
  • University of Toronto Scarborough

  *admission to these divisions requires some university preparation; you cannot apply to these programs directly from secondary school.

  Applicants should rank their choices in order of preference.  Ontario High School Students (101 Applicants) will receive separate decisions for each Faculty/Division to which you apply (i.e. multiple offers from University of Toronto). Non-Ontario High School Students (105 Applicants) do not receive multiple offers. If they are admitted to their first-choice they will not be considered by subsequent choices; if they are refused by their first choice they will be considered for their second choice, and if refused by their second choice they will be considered for their third.

• Can I do an international exchange as part of my U of T studies?

  U of T provides many opportunities to study internationally. Learn about exchange programs, field courses, international development internships, and co-op placements.

• I’m a mature student, can I apply to U of T even if I don’t meet the admission requirements?

  If you do not meet the published admission requirements, and have not previously attempted university level studies, you may become eligible for various programs through either the Academic Bridging Program or the Transitional Year Program. Find out more about these options here. 

• I meet all the admission requirements, except for the English Language Requirements – can I still apply?

  If your first language is not English and you will have completed less than four years of satisfactory full-time study in a Canadian school or in a country where the dominant language is English, you may have to present proof of English facility. Find details .

  You might be a candidate for one of our English Language Transition Programs. These are available on each of our three campuses, find out more about the different offerings. 

• When do I start choosing my courses?

  Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive information about course selection in your Next Steps package. You can get an idea of what courses are available by checking the Course Finder, or get in touch with your Registrar for questions about course selection.

  You should also become familiar with the Accessible Campus Online Resource Network (ACORN), and use it to find your courses, academic record and fee information.

University of Toronto Admission Process

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the admissions and enrollments process for the University of Toronto are not affected largely. Slight changes may be observed in the deadlines and documents required based on the impact of coronavirus.
